Cantina 76: Fresh Take

Cantina 76 is a lively taqueria and bar specializing in fresh Mexican-inspired cuisine, signature margaritas, a quick yet satisfying dining experience and a casual, upbeat atmosphere. This South Carolina independently-owned and operated establishment was founded in 2009. With locations in Charleston, Columbia and Greenville, you can sample each site if you’re a state traveler. A family and dog-friendly restaurant, it is the perfect spot for lunch, dinner or happy hour with friends.

Craving a fresh margarita with delicious flavors? They have you covered. Offering a full-service Mexican-inspired taqueria and bar known for its margaritas, hand-crafted using elements like agave nectar, fresh lime juice and variations such as muddled strawberries and basil, it is sure to hit the spot. Popular margaritas include the “The Cantina,” Jalapeno, The Divine and the Strawberry-Basil margarita. Cantina 76 has an extensive tequila selection, whether you prefer one that’s bright and crisp, deep and complex or somewhere in between they have a large variety of Blanco, Reposado and Añejo tequilas to choose from.

Full of fresh, unique ingredients, the menu includes a large assortment of imaginative tacos, as well as enchiladas, nachos, salads, quesadillas, chimichangas, soups and sides. Popular items include the “Tres Hombres” sampler, Peruvian Shrimp Taco, Surf ‘n’ Turf Taco, BBQ Chicken Quesadilla, and the Roasted Chicken Salad. The Dirty Queso offers a savory twist on a crowd favorite. Dessert offerings include fried ice cream, Chimi cheesecake and Mexican brownie A la Mode. Happy Hour happens daily from 4-7 p.m. and offers discounts on margaritas, frozen drinks and a dollar-off all drinks.

Roasted chicken tacos by Cantina 76
  • Fresh chicken breast and
    thighs 50/50 4 lbs.
  • Chicken stock 3 to
    4 cups
  • Chili Powder 3 tbsp
  • Paprika 1.5 tbsp
  • Granulated Garlic
    1 tbsp
  • Granulated Onion
    1 tbsp
  • Salt ½ tbsp
  • Ground Cumin
    ½ tbsp

Simmer for 1-2 hours until the chicken pulls apart easily


  • Add approximately 2 oz roasted chicken to a
    steamed tortilla shell
  • Add shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Add Fresh Pico de Gallo
  • Dress with Southwestern ranch
